Well, as you all know by now, Kickstarter was not a "so-called success". BUT, I have been receiving alot of show offers due to my campaign, so I AM calling it a success by golly! I am still going on through with my plan of creating all winter and filling next year with shows, so I'm still quite excited! The campaign would've helped with impending supplies, but I will just roll with the punches. Off to work on some snowflakes................

What an awesome autumn day today was, still is! It inspired me to go pick some leaves to take impressions for my suncatchers and necklaces. If you make a solution of 1 part glycerin & 2 parts water, pour over leaves in a pan, let sit 4-5 days, and pat dry, they won't dry out and will retain most of their autumn hue! Frame some for your own fall rainbow cascading down your walls!

Great news! I finally got my first backer for my Kickstarter campaign. (Thanx ma!) Maybe this will get the ball rolling! I have 16 days left and only 10% of my goal is fulfilled. Looks like it's time to get a little more creative hardcore and up it about 1000 notches!!!

I am soooo upset right now. Check this out.....So, in order to get my Kickstarter campaign live I have to have an Amazon Payments account where I have to fax them a copy of my bank statement in order to get verified. Last Friday I did just that. They said it could take up to 7 days to be verified, so all week I've been waiting ever so anxiously. Well, when I still hadn't heard from them by yesterday, Thursday, I sent them an e-mail to find out when so I can move forward on my Kickstarter dealie. They said they can't find that fax and now I have to fax another copy which can mean up to ANOTHER week of wait time!!!! All of my account info was on that statement. WHO RECEIVED IT AND WHERE IS IT?! I am beside myself!!! I'm NEVER going to get this campaign going!!!!!!!!
On a brighter note, a friend asked me to make a shadowbox for him of his recently passed cat and dog. I used to make these about 5 yrs. ago for people, but stopped. Thinking about putting them as a reward incentive on my campaign. Check them out tell me what you think!

I am so eager for Kickstarter to go live, but still haven't received their approval! I'm on pins & needles!!
To get my mind off of it and have some new ideas flowing, I spent Sunday hiking in Lemont. Ever been? It's really a cool little old I&M Canal town. Built from quarry rock, this town is filled with quarries to go hiking around. Check out this big old tree I ran into! Oh the things it must have ! seen!

I finished my Kickstarter dealie this morning and now I'm just waiting for my approval. Then my 30 day adventure begins! I'm quite excited and eager to get this LIVE!!! Wish me luck!!

I was REALLY hoping to have Kickstarter up and running by now, but boy oh boy! I'm having such problems with my video editing! I had a garage sale just to raise funds to buy this new fangled video camera just for my Kickstarter campaign and am still learning all of it's bells & whistles. BTW, I had $4 leftover from garage sale fundraising. SUCCESS!!! Let's just hope that ny Kickstarter campaign will be just as successful!!! I'm hoping to have it finished today. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!!

Sorry about blowing off my blog this past summer, but I've really been going to town to make this all happen! Just a few more days until Kickstarter kick off!! A few weeks ago I had a garage sale/trunk show to raise funds for a video camera to take kickstarter video and I succeeded with just a few bucks to spare! This weekend I am having another to raise $$$ for a smartphone so I can take credit cards at my future shows and all the other fun stuff it can do. I'm just JUMPING into this millenium, aren't I? My first video camera and smartphone and it's already 2013! Well, I haven't needed them until now, so this is kinda fun! Harrison St. art district's 20 year celebration here in Oak Park is this weekend and I live right around the corner, so hopefully that will help! So, come on by! Look for the signs on Harrison St. & Taylor for my garage sale/trunk show and I hope to see you there!

So, here I am starting a blog. Figured this would be a good time to start one as I'm really going to kick Creative Juice's Studio (which I lovingly call CJ and will be from here on out) into high gear this year! The past few years I have been creating and perfecting my pieces, getting them into shops/selling consignment, scouting out the appropriate shows for my creations, reading all I can about how to do this thing I call CJ. Pretty much DIY art biz school. I've been eager for this phase to begin. Larger shows, new designs, getting out there more! I'm excited! I've been working like crazy dogs trying to get done everything on time so I can start my Kickstarter campaign come September and hopefully it will be successful so I can start doing Randolph St. Market and the such for fall and holiday season. Wish me luck! Alot of rain here in Chicagoland. But low and behold, I have a stretch of beautiful weather here for a few days and I am seizing this opportunity to get this done! Now, some stuff I have been collecting needs work so I have to do that. Yesterday I hauled it all outside and scrubbed and hosed them down. Let it dry in the sun for the day. Today I have to paint and weather them as I like a rustic look. It's going to be a long busy day, but I'll be in 82F and sunny weather so I don't see a problem at all! Plus, great work out!
